Can I book a semi-private lesson with one child?
We require two people for a semi-private lesson. These participants can come from different families, but we don’t organize pairings ourselves.
Will I always have the same coach?
We are a small program and kids will generally swim with the same coach, however, as noted in the Program Agreement, instructors may occasionally change due to business needs.
What kind of training do the instructors have?
Every instructor on our team holds a Water Safety Instructor certification from the American Red Cross, enabling them to teach children as young as 6 months old, including parent-child groups.
How do I know which level my child is at?
Please review the level descriptions listed on the kids’ swim page.
How often are the lessons?
We require a twice-weekly commitment, as it’s the best way to ensure your child’s progress if they can’t practice outside of class. This frequency also helps us maintain an optimal scheduling system for our program.
How many lessons will my child need?
Progress depends on several factors: past swimming experience, level of comfortability in the water, the child’s speed of learning, and whether there is an opportunity to practice skills outside of lessons. The overall goal for the child also plays a role; for example, a child who is anxious about getting their face wet may take more time to become comfortable in the water than a child who is ready to swim laps across the length of the pool. Typically, a beginner taking lessons for a couple of months will become familiar with swimming basics like arm and leg movement, breath control, and safety skills.
Are group swim lessons available?
Not currently.Â
Do I need to be present at my child's lesson?
Yes, we require parents to remain in the pool area for safety reasons.
Are there discounts for members?
At this time, we are not offering any discounts.
Can I cancel my lessons, if needed?
Cancellations must be made 30 days before the next billing period, which begins on the 1st of each month.
What if I need to cancel a specific lesson?
Lesson cancellations for unforeseen absences, such as illness, must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Missed sessions won’t be refunded; a makeup session credit will be issued. The same policy applies to sessions missed due to inclement weather or pool closures.
How will I be billed?
Once the training agreement is completed, we can bill your membership account via credit card or check. Monthly packages will be billed at the beginning of each month; those paying by session will be billed before each session.
Reasons to Enroll Your Kids in Our ClubSport Swim Lessons
Water Safety Lessons
Learning how to swim is a crucial life skill that can prevent drowning accidents. By teaching children proper swimming techniques and water safety practices, swimming lessons reduce the risk of water-related accidents and instill confidence in children when they are in or around water.
Physical Fitness
Swimming is an excellent form of exercise that engages multiple muscle groups and improves cardiovascular health. By participating in swimming lessons, kids can develop strength, endurance, and overall physical fitness.
Confidence and Independence
Mastering swimming skills can boost children’s confidence and independence. It allows them to feel more comfortable and capable in the water, which can translate to other areas of their lives.
Social Interaction
Swimming lessons often take place in group settings, providing kids with opportunities to socialize and make new friends. This social interaction fosters communication skills, teamwork, and cooperation.
Cognitive Development
Swimming lessons involve learning new skills, following instructions, and understanding safety rules, all of which contribute to cognitive development. Additionally, navigating the water requires problem-solving skills and spatial awareness.
Lifelong Enjoyment
Teaching kids how to swim at a young age can foster a lifelong love of water-based activities. Whether it’s swimming laps for exercise, enjoying water sports, or simply relaxing in the pool, swimming lessons lay the foundation for a lifetime of enjoyment in and around the water.
